Explores constitutional law and correctional law as it relates to the criminal justice professional. Introduces students to the United States legal system with an emphasis on the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments. Students will identify situations where reasonable suspicion and probable cause apply, elements of search and seizure, elements of arrest, and how constitutional rights apply to correctional law.
