Provides an orientation to problem gambling as an addictive disorder. Explores the neurobiology and pharmacology of gambling addiction, risk factors and gambling addiction among diverse populations. Prepares students to evaluate and address the issues of clients with gambling disorders for treatment planning. This is the first in a two-course certificate preparing students to earn the International Certified Gambling Counselor (ICGC) credential.
