Students are introduced to web design by learning to code HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) using text editor software. Focus on learning the HTML and CSS coding schemes to produce a small website by gaining skills in formatting text, inserting images and backgrounds, positioning elements on the page for layout, apply styles, both inline and via an external style sheet. CSS best practices and browser support issues are also addressed. Students gain skill in using FTP software to upload files to a web server.
